Because Lutherans love the beauty of the earth. We are reminded of the poet Mary Oliver's simple lesson, "Instructions for living a life: Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it." The blooming okra towering in the Garden of Eatin' has a lot so say right now. It is astonishing, actually. Thanks be to God for our gardeners who pay attention so very well. We are better together.
